Buck -> Showreel Montage 2010

Buck Showreel Montage 2010 from Buck on Vimeo.

A few days ago L.A. and NYC based creative agency ‘Buck’ uploaded their slamming new 2010 Showreel Montage. Full of animation, illustration and other high energy creative emissions, it makes for a really entertaining view. There is a lot more to see on their website as well.

Life Photography -> Jeffrey David Luker

Photos like the above can only be captured by someone who passionately lives behind the camera, always taking it with them, every day, every night… and of course, it doesn’t hurt to be packing an abundance of talent along as well. Portland, Oregon based photographer Jeffrey David Luker has an outstanding collection of life photos [...]

Crystal -> Evelyn Siegmund

I don’t know a lot about Dresden, Germany based art student Evelyn Siegmund or her work, but I discovered this lone piece on her Behance page this afternoon and thought it was really nice. I’ll have to keep an eye out for updates…

Flickr Set: Hong Kong and Macau in the 1950s -> Phil Roeder

I’m finding a ton of amazing things on Flickr lately. The above shots are vintage photos taken by Des Moines based Photographer Phil Roeder’s father (possibly with a Zeiss Ikon Contessa from what I’ve gathered from his Flickr page) while travelling Hong Kong and Macau in the 1950s. Wonderful retro coloring and contrast along with the fact [...]

Bat For Lashes -> Treat Studios

Bat For Lashes visuals from Treat on Vimeo.

From the Vimeo page:

“Robin and Julia directed these visuals for Natasha Khan early 2010. This is a short edit of around 20 mins of footage produced. They were projected behind her singing with a string quartet, it was ace.”

More great work to be seen on ‘Treat Studios’ portfolio [...]

365concepts -> Rupinder Singh

Rupinder Singh has taken it upon himself to tackle a 365 design project, and has set up a nice tumblr blog to display his works daily. Having watched my wife go through her own 365 photo project, I know how much of a task this simple idea can become. His works so far are pretty [...]

Meet Flipboard -> Content Aggregate iPad App

My ‘old school’ pal from way back in the the day when most of our time was spent trying to score change to play video games (arcade games, the kind you stood in front of at a mall) sent me this link yesterday with one simple statement attached -> “this is why you want to [...]

He's My Brother She's My Sister ->

I happened across this talented and tight little Los Angeles based group called ‘He’s My Brother She’s My Sister’ on a friends Facebook page the other day (thanks Chris!). They seem to be channeling some serious ragtime retro goodness from an era that has long since passed us by. The vocal styling, upright bass and [...]

Honeyee.com -> Web Magazine

If you’re looking for a new online resource for design, art, music, culture and fashion you may want to check out Honeyee.com. I like the simplicity of the site’s template which allows the imagery to speak loudly and not become diluted by a heavy site skin. The categories are pretty interesting as well, covering everything [...]

Playful™ Font -> Hype for Type™

I took notice of this font called Playful™ the other day while browsing work on the Behance’ network. Judging from the creative examples above it seems to be a very versatile font. I think the 3D renderings are my favorite. Many other uses are to be seen on the Behance’ site, including the unaffected set. Great [...]

KraftWork -> Seeper (image mapping projection)

KraftWork from seeper on Vimeo.

The above video by KraftWork is a nice new example of architectural image mapping. I especially like the Tron-ish white line/hairline rendering towards the beginning of the video, feels unlike anything that I’ve seen before coming from this creative medium.

OFFF Paris 2010 -> Julien Vallée

The talented Julien Vallée has some new motion design work on his portfolio site. This time, less focused on papercraft and more about quirky little life subtleties that seem to play up the old expression ‘less is more’ in a big way. As the video plays through each odd scene becomes a bit more surreal, [...]

Photographer -> Noran Bakrie

Indonesia based photographer Noran Bakrie has captured some truly magical shots. I’m not certain what kind of equipment he’s using but I really enjoy the retro feel of his camera’s output. Above is a small sampling of the many great photos that reside on his site.

OK Go -> End Love (Official Video)

I discovered this new video called ‘End Love’ by OK GO on a friend’s Facebook wall today (thanks Chris!). It’s definitely on par with what OK GO has smartly conjured up for themselves in the past, actually, this may be my new favorite video from them. Great slo-mo shots contrasted by high speed motion blur, and [...]
