This skate video by Russell Houghten is masterfully done. Great moments of timelapse, slow-pan and featuring a whole slew of talented riders, Dylan Rieder, John Rattray, Shuriken Shannon, Tom Karangelov, Jordan Taylor, Arto Saari, Oscar Meza… Taking your average skate vid to a whole new level of videography. Well worth the view.

“The experimental typeface Raster is based on a 3×4 grid. That’s also where its name comes from as “Raster” means “grid” in german.

The typeface is designed for headline purposes. The goal was to create an interesting, geometric look where the decorative elements don’t cut on the readability of the slogan/header/.. you want to create.”

This animated short by Hannover, Germany based designer Hardy Seiler is beautifully done. Nice motion, illustration, clever transitions, interesting dialogue and overall message.  Have a look.

The works above are just a few selects from a larger collection called ‘Misunderstanding Focus’. From Pedro Maia’s super 8 home movies archive, this video results from the work in the dark room using analogue means of light manipulation of the film in attempted to don’t allow us to forget the materials. Here are elusive shadows, the delicate materials turning and strobing and shaking as if to emphasize the fragility of the look, the fragility of these family films compacts have come apart at last, and in their dissolution, in the dying moments of their foreclosure and abandonment, these pictures have been left behind.”
