Aurora 2012 -> Christian Mülhauser

Aurora 2012 from Christian Mülhauser on Vimeo.

I have to admit, there have been so many brilliant photos and videos of the northern lights lately that I have kind of become a bit desensitized to them. However, this well captured footage by Christian Mülhauser is a good one to check out. Side note: the music is [...]

Compressed 02 -> Kim Pimmel

Compressed 02 from Kim Pimmel on Vimeo.

This is a pretty incredible experimental video coming from Kim Pimmel. I’m struck by the geometry that is revealed as the ferrofluid travels the microscopic seams of each bubble. Nicely done.

Notes from Vimeo:

“I combined everyday soap bubbles with exotic ferrofluid liquid to create an eerie tale, using macro lenses [...]

Patagonia Time Lapse -> Adam Colton

This is very well captured… pretty mesmerizing stuff.

Notes from Vimeo:

“Adam Stokowski and I spent 2 weeks in Patagonia Country pursuing our new passion for time lapse video and rhino hunting. We visited Torre Del Paine Park, Chile. Glacier Park, Argentina & Fitz Roy, Argentina. Plus all the beauty in between. Many barbed wire fences were climbed…. this [...]

The Burn Units -> ALIVE

The Burn Units – ALIVE – feat Gigi Rüf, Ståle Sandbech & Arthur Longo from Burn on Vimeo.

Notes from Vimeo:

“This planet is alive. If only we could know what it knows, see what it sees. Sometimes you feel like it’s trying to tell you something, showing you where to look, how to see. Lighting up [...]

The Unseen Sea -> Simon Christen

The Unseen Sea from Simon Christen on Vimeo.

Photographer and videographer Simon Christen compiled the above time lapse shots taken in and around the San Francisco Bay Area. They are some of the most dramatic environmental transitions that I’ve seen to date. His works are remarkably well done and very inspiring to those of us who [...]

Kiel Johnson -> Cardboard Sculptures

The first I saw of L.A. based, Kansas City born Kiel Johnson was the title screen of his time lapse video below (Cardboard Sculpture of a Twin Lens Reflex Camera) on Vimeo. Honestly I didn’t even play the video at the time. I guess I’d seen so much papercraft time lapse video on Youtube and [...]

Night Photography -> James Schneider Jr. (continued)

A couple weeks ago I posted some of my night shots here on the blog. I’ve continued to take shots since then, now I am less focused on capturing streams of light in traffic and having a good time just capturing different subjects and forms of light in interesting composition. A little streaming light here [...]

Timescapes Timelapse -> Mountain Light

This past August Tom@Timescapes.org filmed the above amazing time lapse video in California’s White Mountains and Yosemite with a Canon 5D2. Each slow time lapse pan of the camera is carefully designed and lit with amazing celestial/natural light. “Jaw dropping” are the wards that come to mind. I look forward to seeing his full length [...]

Rush Hour London -> Chris Searson

Rush Hour London from Chris Searson on Vimeo.

This is a well done time lapse film by London based Contemporary Lens Media graduate Chris Searson. Trains, autos and people all captured at interesting moments during their daily scurry to either get to work or get home from work. Great musical score selection as well. Worth the [...]

James Rizzi -> Time Lapse creation

Sit back relax and enjoy this inspirational time lapse of Brooklyn based artist James Rizzi doing what he does best. His use of color and bold line work is amazing to say the least and even more enjoyable to watch being created in high speed. I also really enjoy the music track that is being [...]

Timelapse Demo Reel -> by Pixel’s Revenge -> ridindave

Pixel’s Revenge timelapse demo reel from ridindave on Vimeo.

I “tweeted” this the other day w/o really letting myself digest how amazing this video by Pixel’s Revenge actually is. After my third or fourth view it hit me that this is definitely one of the best time lapse pieces that I have ever seen. I love [...]
