Being a long time fan of Amsterdam based influential music and lifestyle blogger Nalden, I’m pretty excited to try out his new super-slick iPad app. Just a few months ago he was soliciting for a talented experience designer to help him build out his dream app, now it seems that it’s come to fruition in a [...] I came across this declined Myspace concept work by Mexican agency ‘Face.’ today on the Behance network, and I have to say it’s pretty solid. I’m feeling the aggregate content display similar to a ‘Pinterest‘ experience as well as the smart use of color and the clean bold graphics that involve little fuss or clutter. [...] These are my three favorite selects from Finland based photographer Mikko Lagerstedt’s incredible ‘Winter’ photo set found on the Behance network. I enjoy his post manipulation and his apparent interest in natural outdoor subject matter. It seems that I’ve seen a great deal of amazing Finnish photography this year, it makes me want to go for [...] Wurzburg, Germany based photographer Holger Schilling, created this photo series called ‘While you Slept’ (20th-century architecture of German single-family homes). I’m amazed at how his lighting technique, combined with his crisp capturing abilities and the minimalist subject matter can produce such a deeply rich and surreal effect. Nike has so much diversity happening with their brand right now, skateboarding to tennis… golf to rugby, so on and so forth. I think this ad captures the essence of Nike’s sprawl and amazingly implements their usual branding trifecta of ‘cool [...] When I was in school I thought my typography teacher was pure evil for having us hand letter the alphabet over and over until we got our kerning and serifs perfectly nailed down. Years later, I now understand and greatly appreciate what he was teaching us. Brooklyn based designer Dana Tanamachi has a collection of [...] I’ve been following Brooklyn, NY based photographer Steph Goralnick on Flickr for a while now. Her photos are always amazingly candid, full of style and stand-out personality. Recently she posted an unbelievable collection of monotone night captures taken during one of New York’s unusually harsh winter storms… so nice! The stills are quite beautiful, but you have to experience the luminous animation and motion design by watching this video full screen. The constant changing of the the neon rod’s depth of field accompanied [...] I came across some fairly new works by Simon Page on his Flickr stream yesterday, which then led me to his Behance page. Apparently, he’s been working hard on a lot of album covers. The above covers were all inspired by ‘simply listening to the music’, as he states on his Behance project page. The [...] An old friend of mine from back east (NYC) turned me on to this Minneapolis based band called ‘Cloud Cult’ recently. If you like the eclectic and textured sounds of bands like The Broken Social Scene, The Deadly Syndrome and Grizzly Bear, I think you may find Cloud Cult to be to your liking as well. [...] Former Saint Paul, MN, current Portland, OR designer Dave Ewald has been adding to his Flickr stream lately with what he modestly describes as ‘proof of life’ photography.
