Notes from Vimeo:

“Love and Light” video aims to explore the relation between a musician and filmmaker and their personal reflection on memories. From Pedro Maia’s super 8 home movies archive, this video results from the work in the dark room using analogue means of light manipulation of the film in attempted to don’t allow us to forget the materials. Here are elusive shadows, the delicate materials turning and strobing and shaking as if to emphasize the fragility of the look, the fragility of these family films compacts have come apart at last, and in their dissolution, in the dying moments of their foreclosure and abandonment, these pictures have been left behind.”

“In 2009 I left for Kenya to work on a photographic project, I intended to portray the subtle balance connecting African people with their surrounding environment. The project, named “A Bit of Africa”, should have provided as initial backdrop the suburban areas around Nairobi, later widening its focus towards pastoral and rural areas in East Africa.”

Notes from Behance:

“Octave has been created with the intention of fusing together the graphical elements of written musical composition with the English alphabet. My passion for illustration and typography made me naturally lean towards lettering, while music is a very important element in my creative process.”

I discovered these wonderfully rendered papercraft infographics this morning while checking out what was new on Behance. They were created by a young designer named Tien-Min who was born and raised in Taipei, Taiwan. She graduated from the National Chengchi University in Taiwan and furthered her studies at my alma mater, Pratt Institute in New York. I really like her purposeful use of color and simplistic type design, works well with the papercraft imagery. There is more of her great design to be seen beyond the link below.
