As The Stars Fall – Artificial Sun from AS THE STARS FALL on Vimeo.
I really enjoy the sounds, sights and overall aesthetic of this music video coming from Paris, France based music group ‘As the Stars Fall’. I feel that the very personal and candid approach to the video production gives the already magical soundtrack [...]

Today I stopped in and took some pics of the newest retail addition to Seattle’s downtown shopping district, ‘All Saints Co.’ (based out of London). Aside from the nice retro typography, fluid branding and tall windows impressively stacked floor to ceiling with vintage sewing machines, I was also pretty excited to see iPads spotted throughout [...]

The smart and entertaining illustration/poster design series above is coming from a Toronto based illustrator named James Alexander and designer Glenn Michael of Moxy Creative House. The concept is great. In short, it’s a series of posters documenting the the style of music featuring iconic outfits from 20 male musicians. Shown above, is the main poster [...]

When I was a young towheaded skate rat, a guy named Rodney Mullen was responsible for blowing my mind with his otherworldly, elevated and almost ‘upper crusty’ skateboard tricks, and on a really narrow board that was just unexplainable at a time when decks were FAT. I also remember his deck graphics being one of [...]

I don’t have a ton to say here about the many beautiful renderings by ‘Graffiti Technica’ other than I ♥ them. Their latest video update is perfection, from the simple type lockups, subtle dream state music, surreal minimalist arty landscape and then the big finish with the 3D graffiti tag mysteriously hovering like a UFO [...]

Indonesia based photographer Noran Bakrie has captured some truly magical shots. I’m not certain what kind of equipment he’s using but I really enjoy the retro feel of his camera’s output. Above is a small sampling of the many great photos that reside on his site.

Along with the news of the iPhone 4 release on June 24th, Grove Made is taking pre-orders on their new laser engraved iPhone case specifically designed for the new model. I wondered how the bamboo case would look given that the new iPhone design has some sharper edges to it… still looks very nice.

There is something wonderful about the contrast of tilt-shift, which makes everything look smaller or ‘toy like’, being applied to BIG NYC scenery. Sam O’Hare has captured some really fantastic HD NYC footage, from multiple vantage points with his Nikon D3. His shoot locations really resonate with me, I actually lived in those blurry buildings across the [...]

Recently I discovered the website for Amsterdam’s ‘CODE Magazine’ which is distributed in the Netherlands, Belgium, Tokyo and Paris. Self-described as being a “platform for documentary fashion photography”, CODE is full of genuine, fresh design, typography and photography. On the website (which is slated for a redesign launch in March) you’ll find a bunch of [...]

If you only have time to check out one design related site this week, I would say Buenos Aires based designer Pablo Alfieri’s updated portfolio site would be from the top of my list to choose. Along with the smooth site experience you’ll find a ton of fresh, vivid on-trend work that is certain to [...]

I discovered these amazing photos taken by Italian Photographer Paolo Novelli on one of my favorite trend blogs http://www.nalden.net. He is calling this collection ‘A Bit of Africa’. I really like his application of tilt-shift photo styling to these dilapidated and underdeveloped urban settings. Makes for a nice merge of old and new… More of Paolo Novelli’s photos can be [...]

It’s been a while since I’ve posted any interesting wrist watches or gadgets. This particular model called the ‘Poptone Vibration Watch’ caught my eye the other day while doing a little online holiday shopping. As you’ve most likely gathered by the name it’s unique feature is that it has a vibrating alarm. Pretty cool for [...]

‘Maestro Knows’ is an online show based around skateboarding vlogger personality Levi Maestro’s day to day life. Documenting urban skate and urban culture, style and fashion trends while skating around town is what he’s known for. Initially his vlogging took place primarily Los Angeles, his popularity has gained him some extra travel opportunities and is [...]

No surprise. Nike is still king of personalization, customization and the online configurator. I quickly designed the above shoe on Nike’s latest configurator for the NIKEiD line with ease. I liked the outcome so much that I decided to save the design for a possible future purchase. Some other nice things I like about this [...]
