Open Horizon -> Russell Houghten

This skate video by Russell Houghten is masterfully done. Great moments of timelapse, slow-pan and featuring a whole slew of talented riders, Dylan Rieder, John Rattray, Shuriken Shannon, Tom Karangelov, Jordan Taylor, Arto Saari, Oscar Meza… Taking your average skate vid to a whole new level of videography. Well worth the view.

Cartel -> Enjoying BCN!

This is just nice. A bit filter heavy, but in a good way, and well captured on a 5D this video makes me want to go spend some time someplace warm, beachside with a longboard under my arm. Skater: Michele Pinna  and Música: Blithe Field – “Bible School”

Lundberg Loses It -> Kenny Luby

Lundberg Loses It from Kenny Luby on Vimeo.

This video is incredibly well done and guaranteed to keep you at the edge of your seat. I really like the purposeful transition from monochrome to color as well as the atmospheric timelapse effects. Watch it fullscreen and in HD for the best ride.

Man About Town Magazine -> Kilian Martin

This is pretty fantastic. ‘Man About Town Magazine‘, a men’s style and popular culture magazine has featured the smooth skate stylings of Kilian Martin as a way to promote their latest issue (Life’s a Beach – the Winter Sun Issue). Innovative skateboarding + sleepy 1950′s retro chic = WIN. Nice Art Direction by Atelier Franck [...]

Kilian Martin -> A Skate Escalation

When I was a young towheaded skate rat, a guy named Rodney Mullen was responsible for blowing my mind with his otherworldly, elevated and almost ‘upper crusty’ skateboard tricks, and on a really narrow board that was just unexplainable at a time when decks were FAT. I also remember his deck graphics being one of [...]

Napoleón Vuelaenpartes -> Design/Poster Prints

I really enjoy Napoleón Vuelaenpartes’ genius fusion of old school skate, retro silk screen illustration and Star Wars imagery. In my opinion, he could keep playing around with those ingredients endlessly, I don’t think I’d ever get bored of them. Nice colors, textures, fresh illustration and type… Have a look via the link below.

Haroshi を立ち上げる -> Recycled Skateboard Art

I really enjoy the artwork of artist, skater and designer known as Haroshi. Having grown up a skater and a Super Mario Bros addict I naturally gravitate towards these works in a big way. Each iconic wall mural and piece of sculpture is created from recycled skateboard decks. Glued together, cut and shaped these decks [...]

Octopus -> Nevercrew 2009

The Switzerland based mural artists Christian Rebecchi & Pablo Togni known as the ‘Nevercrew’ are filmed creating this amazing Octopus in a huge skate pool accompanied by the sounds of ‘Vampire Weekend’. This short video is definitely a pick me up + makes me long for those Summer days again. Worth  view.

The éS skate team visited Amsterdam as part of the Great éScape Tour. There are some nice moments captured as pro skaters Justin Eldridge, Danny Garcia, Bobby Worrest, Rodrigo TX, Mike Anderson, John Rattray, Bas Janssen, Ricardo Paterno and Woody Hoogendijk cruise the park. Makes for an entertaining Friday view.

Maestro Knows -> Content is King

‘Maestro Knows’ is an online show based around skateboarding vlogger personality Levi Maestro’s day to day life. Documenting urban skate and urban culture, style and fashion trends while skating around town is what he’s known for. Initially his vlogging took place primarily Los Angeles, his popularity has gained him some extra travel opportunities and is [...]

Pat Smith -> Designer & Illustrator

Over the weekend I had the opportunity to catch up with a designer/illustrator friend of mine Pat Smith at board and skate shop Cal-Surf in Minneapolis to check out some of his new work. He’s done some great stuff for Nike, Cal-Surf and various other skate culture related projects in the past. He’s not afraid [...]

Addidas -> Skateboarding Osaka Japan

Adidas Skateboarding Osaka Japan from JJ Visual on Vimeo.

This Adidas funded skate video filmed in Osaka, Japan is really well produced and edited. It not only makes me want to visit Osaka to check out all the funky architecture that these guys are skating on, it also makes me want to dust off my own [...]
