Brooklyn based artist Kevin Cyr pulls his inspiration from “derelict cars and unkempt landscapes”. I really like how his work maintains a clean graphic look despite the weathered and unruly subject matter. His paintings feature vans, delivery carts and even a bike/camper hybrid that he has actually built as a fully functional sculpture piece. I’m [...]

Washington DC based artist Gregory Thielker takes the photo-realism genre of painting to a whole new level of liquidity with his collection of recent works. Creating a realistic illusion of any given image or environment is difficult enough to pull off with a clear unobstructed view, let alone through an organic, unpredictable, light refracting layer [...]

I am so glad that I caught wind of Adidas’s Urban Art Guide project a few months ago. Since then I have joined their Facebook group I have been receiving amazing updates of new art that is popping up all over the world this summer (these were painted in Sao Paolo, Brazil). These pieces by [...]

The above Cut paper on Birch Panel by ELBOW-TOE titled “Don’t Get Ahead of Yourself” (14 x 18 inches) has the look, feel and emotion reminiscent of works by the old masters (portraits by Van Gogh come to mind). I found his work on Flickr originally, and have since seen him featured in interviews and [...]

Not much to say here other than this is a really fun watch as Jeremy Fish attacks a wall with his brushes, markers and amazing talent. The end result is full of great detail and topped with a nice dimensional graphic hood ornament. Be sure to check out more of his work on his website.

converse illustrators @ Office Glasgow and London from Orange Dot on Vimeo.
Above, illustrators Jeff Bowman, Andy Miller, Barrie Iman and Mathew Hodson design window murals on the windows of Converse stores in Glasgow and London. I enjoyed watching these guys do their thing. My favorite quote from this video was “we’re going to do this [...]

L’homme 100 têtes by JUL&MAT from Julien Lassort on Vimeo.
This clever video by Julien Lassort caught my attention the other evening. Like him, I am fascinated by the science behind the human facial expression (also known as Physiognomy to researchers and scientists). Our faces have hundreds of muscles called mimetic muscles that enable us to [...]
