“Love and Light” video aims to explore the relation between a musician and filmmaker and their personal reflection on memories. From Pedro Maia’s super 8 home movies archive, this video results from the work in the dark room using analogue means of light manipulation of the film in attempted to don’t allow us to forget the materials. Here are elusive shadows, the delicate materials turning and strobing and shaking as if to emphasize the fragility of the look, the fragility of these family films compacts have come apart at last, and in their dissolution, in the dying moments of their foreclosure and abandonment, these pictures have been left behind.”

It seems to me that throwing random parades in honor of your favorite musicians, artists or actors wouldn’t be such a far-fetched idea. Regardless, it makes for an entertaining occurrence + video.

Last week while commuting in to work I was lucky enough to hear this new track called ‘Saying Goodbye’ by the Greenhornes on KEXP radio. It was a clear morning, and Mt. Rainier was not only beaming in the rising sun (which is impressive enough), it was also sporting a massively epic plume of snow blowing off it’s peak by high winds. This song, that amazing view and a brand spanking new year on it’s way… needless to say, the vibe was good that morning, and it felt like I was truly saying ‘goodbye’ to 2010. The Greenhornes’s new album is out and appropriately named ‘★★★★’.
