Wurzburg, Germany based photographer Holger Schilling, created this photo series called ‘While you Slept’ (20th-century architecture of German single-family homes). I’m amazed at how his lighting technique, combined with his crisp capturing abilities and the minimalist subject matter can produce such a deeply rich and surreal effect. Especially when seen together as a series. The Iluma shopping mall in Singapore has recently been wrapped in 3000 high tech polycarbonate modules that are illuminated by fluorescent tubes, making for a truly amazing effect. The polycarbonate modules are geometrically shaped like crystals, giving the outside skin of the building an interesting scaly appearance on top of the [...] Zurich, Switzerland based furniture + fixture design agency ‘Strala’ designed this lighting ‘tms’ series (2004) that is both minimalist and complex at the same time.
