The City of Samba from Jarbas Agnelli on Vimeo.
This is an amazing example of tilt-shift videography produced by by Keith Loutit and Jarbas Agnelli. Probably the best example I’ve seen to date. The footage was captured during Carnaval in Rio de Janeiro, 2011. Have a look, go fullscreen.

The above photos are a few highlights from my recent NYC trip. It’s been a while since I’ve posted any of my “hobbyist photography” efforts. I’m still loving the Canon 7D. I still haven’t found the time to take any serious HD video with it, hoping to do so this summer. Especially since I’ve added [...]

I love toys, especially toys that enhance the toys that I already have. Photojojo just added a wide angle and macro lens adapter for SLR cameras to their photo-centric product line. Seems like a nice way to get some extra miles out of that old lens you’re getting a little tired of.

San Francisco: The Miniature City from MINIMUS on Vimeo.
I came across this well done San Francisco tilt-shift by videographer and motion designer MINIMUS on nalden.net today while killing time in between phone calls. I’ve posted a bunch of tilt-shift videos in the past, I just can’t seem to get enough of the effect. I plan to [...]

DARK SIDE OF THE LENS from Astray Films on Vimeo.
This is one of the more incredible examples of videography that I’ve have seen this year. Created by renowned photographer and bodyboarder Mickey Smith, he invites us into his world of ocean sports and his creative interpretation of it through photography and film. This is so [...]

Like a kid in a camera store, I’m pretty excited about this discovery made and passed along by a friend of mine last week (Thanks Aaron!). These little lenses magnetically hold in place on any camera phone and judging from the shots on http://photojojo.com/ they really work! There are three lenses available -> Fisheye, Macro, and [...]

The Pier: Test shots done with Noktor F0.95 50mm with Panasonic GF1 from Philip Bloom on Vimeo.
Yesterday I posted about the Noktor F0.95 50mm lens… Tonight I discovered that Cinematographer Philip Bloom (one of my favorite people to follow on twitter) has already got his hands on one of these lenses. Just like that, he’s [...]

With digital photography being such a healthy industry these days, you have a ton of people buying up new equipment and fueling new innovation. To me, this is both a good thing as well as a challenging reality to keep up with. I’ve spent the last year and a half trying to determine what camera [...]

There is something wonderful about the contrast of tilt-shift, which makes everything look smaller or ‘toy like’, being applied to BIG NYC scenery. Sam O’Hare has captured some really fantastic HD NYC footage, from multiple vantage points with his Nikon D3. His shoot locations really resonate with me, I actually lived in those blurry buildings across the [...]
