The Alphabet 2 from n9ve on Vimeo.
Super ambitious, super fun. I like the wide array of effects and the overall quirkiness of this short video. Great work coming from the talented Turin, Italy based design studio ’9nve’.

I saw this affordable tilt-shift camera on a Facebook post today (by Photojojo) at lunch and thought it was pretty great. The images look solid, there are some nice embedded filters and tilt-shift always looks better when thrown by a real lens as opposed to a photoshop post effect, in my opinion… Have a look, [...]

This is a pretty fun and interesting environmental art piece, or public art project by ‘Pedazos de Papel’ (Pieces of Paper), or at least that’s who I was able to track back to for a source from Vimeo. I may be wrong. Regardless, the paint is released onto the pavement by bicycles and the rest of [...]

This post is specifically for folks out there who love to cook adventurously and eat well …and appreciate a nicely designed search experience to help assist in those efforts. Gojee.com is not only beautifully designed, it contains a great deal of interesting recipes that can be easily searched based on what it is that you’re [...]

Monster Coloring Book from twistcone on Vimeo.
How simple is this idea? Monsters and coloring are pretty much the definition of fun if you ask me. Great to distract the kiddos on your next road trip, I know my nephews would dig this. Nice illustration work, lot’s of fun colors and tools as well…

Spike Solutions #2 from Jacob Niedzwiecki on Vimeo.
I really like the innovative thinking behind with this generative compositing video exploration by Jacob Niedzwiecki. It’s this kind of tinkering that gives birth to new ideas and trends, hungover or not. Have a look.

It’s Friday. I figured that simple fact warrants a post that is all about fun and playfulness, as I rarely do post about “fun and playfulness”. Yes, in air quotes even. This fine rendering of a high-design SpongeBob SquarePants is coming from an agency in Nottingham, London called ‘Studio Output’. Their site is very much [...]

The above photos are a few highlights from my recent NYC trip. It’s been a while since I’ve posted any of my “hobbyist photography” efforts. I’m still loving the Canon 7D. I still haven’t found the time to take any serious HD video with it, hoping to do so this summer. Especially since I’ve added [...]

This is just nice. A bit filter heavy, but in a good way, and well captured on a 5D this video makes me want to go spend some time someplace warm, beachside with a longboard under my arm. Skater: Michele Pinna and Música: Blithe Field – “Bible School”

A Tiny Day in the Jackson Hole Backcountry from Tristan Greszko on Vimeo.
It’s that time of year when we start to see all the amazing video that was captured during the peak months of the ski season. This one was nicely captured tilt-shift style with a Canon 7D and 5D mkII. Lot’s of sick lines [...]

Most of my skiing experience prior to this year has come from the east coast. So, as you can guess I’ve been very excited to get in on the pacific northwest flavor of the sport. The best part about living in Seattle is that big mountain access is only a couple short hours away by [...]

I really dig this clever Nike spot created by Weiden + Kennedy, for multiple reasons. Nike has so much diversity happening with their brand right now, skateboarding to tennis… golf to rugby, so on and so forth. I think this ad captures the essence of Nike’s sprawl and amazingly implements their usual branding trifecta of ‘cool [...]

I thought this well-filmed video and the actual idea of enhancing one’s bike with an automatic rainbow generating machine was pretty clever. I love that there are people out there spending time building things like this, reminds me a bit of Nike’s Chalk Bot. Makes for a fun view.

I just discovered this amazing iPhone app called ‘TiltShift Generator’ available at the app store for just 99¢. It’s a fantastically efficient and easy to use app that generates a very nice tilt-shift effect on your iphone pics. I’ve been trying it on on some of my landscape photos from my Flickr stream as well, [...]
