I was just speaking to someone yesterday of the apparent fluidity and unlimited potential for the iPad/iPhone/eReader/mobile anything case sub-markets and then coincidentally, later in the evening stumbled upon this interesting company called ‘Grove Made’ who makes these nifty laser engraved bamboo iPhone cases. Pretty slick. I found this on one of my favorite posterous [...] Recently I discovered the website for Amsterdam’s ‘CODE Magazine’ which is distributed in the Netherlands, Belgium, Tokyo and Paris. Self-described as being a “platform for documentary fashion photography”, CODE is full of genuine, fresh design, typography and photography. This particular model called the ‘Poptone Vibration Watch’ caught my eye the other day while doing a little online holiday shopping. As I was clicking through their site I noticed that they had commissioned Brooklyn-based artist Mike Perry to illustrate his vision of the (capsule) community. Documenting urban skate and urban culture, style and fashion trends while skating around town is what he’s known for. Nike is still king of personalization, customization and the online configurator. I quickly designed the above shoe on Nike’s latest configurator for the NIKEiD line with ease. I liked the outcome so much that I decided to save the design for a possible future purchase.
