The Wolf I Used To Be… from Nearly Normal on Vimeo.
This papercraft stop-motion film is both mesmerizing and and inspiring in so many ways. The story, lighting, the quality of the character rendering and the overall scenery is nothing short of pure genius. Can you tell I like it? Have a look for yourself.

This past week I decided to check out the Society6 artist’s community/storefront. I have been shopping around for an online print and frame service for some of my photography anyway, so I decided, why not try a service that also connects artists together, similar to how the Blurb DIY book service does? So far, I [...]

I like this little film about super talented artist Chris Sickels and his vintage Harley Pacer. All around, he seems like a great person, someone who appreciates the simple things in life but is also passionate about producing the things his mind gravitates towards. Makes for an entertaining view, godspeed!

ink&paper from Ben Proudfoot on Vimeo.
This nicely done short documentary covers the oldest and last traditional, old technology letterpress and custom artist paper establishments in L.A. The story is well told and gives us a view into the working process and the modern day struggles of both these lost trades.

Hero from Miguel Endara on Vimeo.
The above video documents Miguel Endara’s 210 hour magical pointillism portrait of his father called ‘Hero’. How many dots does it take to create such an amazing image? He’s guessing about 3.2 million well placed micro dots of ink. Give or take one or two… Very impressive and very fun [...]

I recently discovered the sculptural works of Amsterdam based artist Boris Tellegen. Full of dynamic multi-layered structure and modern edge, they really hold my attention. I’d like to see them in person, I’m sure as light changes in any given room or space, they change personality right along with it. Many more great works by Boris [...]

Sometimes senseless, random scribbles on a wall can be a ‘thing of beauty’. Especially, when applied by a free-roaming gallery robot. Pretty amazing, would love to see it in person. Check out the video below.

The work of artist and photographer Francois Robert has been showing up a bit this week on my Tumblr dashboard. This series called ‘Stop The Violence’, seemed appropriately creepy for the upcoming Halloween holiday. More amazingly precise arrangements of bone beyond the links below. How often does one get to say that?

Byron Darby is a Northern Utah born and raised artist, with a focus in photography. The impressive composited image at the top called “Seventy Flights in Ninety Minutes” is the piece of his that originally caught my eye. His images are with no doubt the product of great persistence and planning. Many more fantastic examples [...]

I really like the overall effect, technique and feel of the photography set called ‘Views’ by Alberto Salván Zulueta. Two significantly different views melded together to create an even more powerful and thought provoking image, that somehow feels comfortably whole and standalone. Many more via the link below.
