dust breedings from goaj on Vimeo.
This is an experimental CG particle animation by Berlin based digital artist Jan Goldfuß. The subtle spatial pans are very impressive to me, considering that he’s tracking so many tiny elements. Overall, the effects in this video feel very fresh. Definitely worth checking out.

ASCENSION from chris lavelle on Vimeo.
Some very interesting particle animation and lighting effects coming from 3D artist Chris Lavelle (notes below from Vimeo page):
The finished piece. An experimental piece based around particle system generated by music and sound, pieced together to create a narrative of a cycle of life. Hopefully reflecting warmth, confusion discomfort and [...]

If you find it difficult to take your eyes away from the clock normally, then you may not want to view this memorizing animation by designer Maarten Baas. Each digital number graphic is updated “manually” by a very small figure who seemingly exists within the clock itself. Very fun, worth a view.

SNASK from Mike Crozier on Vimeo.
This is a promotional stop motion video created for Stockholm, Sweden based design group SNASK by designer Mike Crozier. It’s a fun watch as the animation literally unfolds, tears and transitions from sheets of paper to colorful boxes and then to a paper model of a pop style t.v. only to reduce back down [...]

I came across the above rendering by illustrator Cesc Grané this morning on Yayeveryday.com, it made me realize that I hadn’t seen or been very inspired by any recent toy designs lately. This ‘Raiki’ doll seems pretty interesting to me though. I really like the 3D rendering style and the colors chosen to create the world [...]

File Not Be Found from abstract.k on Vimeo.
I came across this reel by Angelo & Daniela Bramanti + Mattia Messina AKA Phonomatt and Luigi Barone of Abstractk.com. I like the mesh of lo-fi/lo-tech graphics with some interesting organic fan shaped objects in constant motion layered with type. The sound design also helps to keep my [...]

outside the box from joseph Pelling on Vimeo.
We all catch ourselves saying lame “corporate speak” things from time to time. In fact, just today I found myself saying the old “out of the box” thing at one point. I don’t think it was too shameful in the context that I had used it but I [...]

Lost Below from Mato Atom on Vimeo.
This animation rendering by CG artist Mato Atom is well worth the view. Lines of different thickness and rate of speed come together in beautifully simplistic figurative forms over a limited palette background accented with silhouettes of foliage that occur in negative space. That’s the best that I can [...]

Mike Walsh has definitely coined the word ‘Futuretainment’ for himself with his new bold graphic book about the future of business. The book’s bold promotional site ties in all the usual social media suspects very nicely and tells the story of how the creation of the internet, mobile and social has changed our digital landscape [...]

This beautiful hand drawn audio responsive video exploration was designed and developed by designer Gwen Vanhee. There are more examples of his work on his site and his vimeo page. Very interesting studies and well worth the view.

I came across this video the other day on Vimeo and was pretty impressed with the integration of these fidgety cut-out cardboard creatures into the real-life street scenery. The animated composites are really well done and the added effect of motion-tracking makes it believable. Worth a view.

This collaborative animation by Blu and David Ellis is almost endless. layer after layer of surreal faces, shapes and mysterious happenings unfold and spill over an old abandoned courtyard offering pure entertainment for our eyes to soak up. It’s really pretty remarkable in many ways beyond just the amazing artwork. I would have loved to [...]

This visual identity motion design by Netherlands based agency ‘Buro knapzak’ contains some very interesting blurring and scaling, nice particle effects and an overall abstract alien appeal that keeps my attention. The identity was produced for The University of Twente, which is based on three central pillars: education, research and valorization. By valorization they mean [...]

From the description on the YouTube page this video animation took 1500 hours of moving/shooting legobricks to produce. The final product is an intense, colorful 8-bit Karate lesson of sorts. Pretty entertaining and worth the view.
