The above ‘Massive Attack’ video takes you through an incredibly rendered CG fly-through of abstract landscape that seems to endlessly unfold and evolve. They take the shooting style to the next level by adding in the effect of a giant hand that enters the scene and interplays with the action in humorous ways. Lines of different thickness and rate of speed come together in beautifully simplistic figurative forms over a limited palette background accented with silhouettes of foliage that occur in negative space. After doing a bit of digging I found that they are geometric light renderings in 3d created by artist, software developer and researcher karsten schmidt at http://postspectacular.com/. These renderings were curated by ‘Maxalot’ and shown in 2008 [...] Many of you will remember the pixel art trend that was going pretty strong in the late 90s where artists like ‘Pixel Boy’ got their names on the designer’s map.
