When I close my eyes and think of the the 80s, this is the sound that I hear, accompanied with the visual of florescent yellow fat laces, laced perfectly straight across on my Air Jordans… miss those. The signature sound of the Roland TR-808 helped to transform the music industry during the 1980s. There’s some interesting facts and some great nostalgia on the TR-808 in this short documentary.

I’ve rediscovered the work of Stockholm based photographer Felix Odell this evening. His Buenos Aires photos (2010) were the first that caught my eye, but I’m absolutely captivated by ‘The Mist’ series of photos from 2009 as well. His whole collection is amazing and worth checking out.

I came across the photography of Elle Perez recently. I enjoy the sense of honesty and humanity that he’s able to capture within each scenario or series. I also like that he’s embedded his portfolio into his Tumblr blog. Pretty clever and definitely worth checking out.
