I think what I like best about the videography work coming from L.A. based ‘The Qualities of Light’ is the diversity and freshness of their content. The following excerpt from their website manifesto say’s it all, “visual displays to highlight the lives of inspiring people or organizations within the Los Angeles area”. There are only [...]

Tempus II from Philip Heron on Vimeo.
Shot with a Photron SA1.1 high speed video camera this video by Philip Heron takes us through a series of captivating slow motion captures. I think my favorite part is the bit with the egg and the mousetrap. Makes for a really interesting view.

Chemistry for life from Dosdecadatres on Vimeo.
Madrid, Spain based agency ‘Dosdecadatres’ is responsible for the beautifully crafted video above, which was created for the 7th ANQUE’s International Congress Opening credits. The soft blue coloring, smart typography, fluctuation of depth of field and complimentary musical score holds my interests well and makes this video a pleasure [...]

My ‘old school’ pal from way back in the the day when most of our time was spent trying to score change to play video games (arcade games, the kind you stood in front of at a mall) sent me this link yesterday with one simple statement attached -> “this is why you want to [...]

Moscow based digital artist Vladimir Shelest has sculpted and rendered this ultra sci-fi experimental graphic environment for a mobile phone release called QderoPateo Ouidoo. The particle effects, lighting and transparent layers are pretty much falling within the category of memorizing. Makes for a dreamy and inspirational view, be sure to check out is site via [...]

Seaweed from Tell No One on Vimeo.
I love to come across surprisingly innovative and creative techniques that are the product of playful and open experimentation. Too often do we try to mimic current/existing trends and forget that there are new, fresh trends out there to be discovered and invented. I’m sure this technique by London [...]

“Yekpare” is a storyteller which narrates the 8500 year story of Istanbul. The story embraces symbols from Pagans to Roman Empire, from Byzantine Empire to Latin Empire, and finally from Ottoman Empire to Istanbul at the present day.
Haydarpaşa Train Station, with its brilliant architectural forms, is the building [...]

If you’re looking for a new online resource for design, art, music, culture and fashion you may want to check out Honeyee.com. I like the simplicity of the site’s template which allows the imagery to speak loudly and not become diluted by a heavy site skin. The categories are pretty interesting as well, covering everything [...]

KraftWork from seeper on Vimeo.
The above video by KraftWork is a nice new example of architectural image mapping. I especially like the Tron-ish white line/hairline rendering towards the beginning of the video, feels unlike anything that I’ve seen before coming from this creative medium.

Tristan Perich: 1-Bit Symphony (Part 1: Overview) from Tristan Perich on Vimeo.
This is an interesting album concept by Tristan Perich that I found on yayeveryday.com this morning. In short the album is equipped and able to produce it’s own original music on the fly when the user turns it on. Be sure to adjust your [...]

The 3D renderings posted on Depot Visuals’ Flickr photostream are extremely unique and fresh. I find myself wanting to look them over in great detail, and there is a lot of detail to cover. Part organic, part geometric they seem to transcend all lines of the ordinary and expected, which, to me, makes them all [...]

We’ve had a lot of discussion around the workplace about HTML5 and how it will effect our interactive realm. It’s a bit challenging to get your head wrapped around what it is exactly and what it will allow us to do. I love the above info graphic because it really does help to visually explain [...]

Oakland based computer programmer Eric Fischer has a very interesting photo set on his Flickr stream called ‘Locals and Tourists’. The set contains visualizations of various cities (seen above are NYC, San Francisco and London) photo activity of locals and tourists.
