‘We are wild’ is a great destination to discover emerging photographers. You get a good glimpse into their world as well as a bit of a story behind each mind that is producing the fantastic work. Above are some of my favorite shots from the Elizabeth Weinberg collection. So many amazing artists to discover, such [...]

I like this little film about super talented artist Chris Sickels and his vintage Harley Pacer. All around, he seems like a great person, someone who appreciates the simple things in life but is also passionate about producing the things his mind gravitates towards. Makes for an entertaining view, godspeed!

Ikea has always produced fresh/fun ways to promote and demo their new products online, which makes sense given that their in-store experience is all about doing just that. This video experience is pretty entertaining. The sets are probably the most impressive part to me, with each one so amazingly rich and well shot into. Cool [...]

The new interactive video experience titled ‘Sprawl 2: Mountains Beyond Mountains’ coming from Arcade Fire feels really fresh and innovative, right down to the dismal, twitchy videography and art direction. In short you get to swing and sway right along with the track with either your mouse or with your own body via the video [...]

Walking in your mind (live mashup) from Ithaca Audio on Vimeo.
It’s amazing what has become possible with live audiovisual sampling. Monome, tonematrix and tenori-on sampling devices have really evolved over that last few years. Fun stuff to keep an eye on.

Reveal Project – Personal Data Mirror from NYT R&D on Vimeo.
I’ve seen a few flavors of mirror screen concepts coming from different tech companies in the past few years. Most notable was a Yahoo! powered experience I saw at the 2006 CES (I almost got in trouble for taking that photo)… This version by the [...]

Sometimes senseless, random scribbles on a wall can be a ‘thing of beauty’. Especially, when applied by a free-roaming gallery robot. Pretty amazing, would love to see it in person. Check out the video below.

Earth | Time Lapse View from Space, Fly Over | NASA, ISS from Michael König on Vimeo.
This NASA/ISS video has been super popular the past couple days in the digi-nets, and rightly so. It’s absolutely mind-blowing. What amazes me is the fact the earth is so electrically charged, both naturally and by man, at all [...]

Some are calling the Shuffler.FM iPad app the “Flipboard of music discovery”. It automagically aggregates music content from thousands of tastemakers, music blogs, sites and magazines creating one big fat, music channel of love …something like that. Just when I was just starting to really get into Spotify. On to the next thing I suppose.

Burning Man: Rites of passage – Day from Ahmed on Vimeo.
This impeccably produced and captured video was taken at this year’s Burning Man. It’s a complete trip and well worth the view. SRSLY. Watch it.
Notes from Vimeo:

“Midnight Sun: A natural phenomenon occurring in the summer months north of the Arctic Circle and south of the Antarctic Circle where the sun never fully sets and remains visible 24 hours a day. Fun With Sphero from GoSphero on Vimeo.
Not much else to say, other than this Sphero thing is rad, and I think it will be as big as the Rubic’s Cube (or at least it should be in my opinion). Such a great concept and design! I ♥ Sphero!
Notes from Vimeo:
“Sphero is the world’s first robotic [...]

I’ve got to say, things were looking pretty grim for ol’ Facebook when Google+ rolled out. G+ seemed to offer up some pretty nice enhancements to the social networking space with ‘circles’ and being able to follow non-friends, similar to Twitter. For me though, it lacked in the area of visual presentation, other than the [...]

This nicely done documentary/music video for the Dutch indie band ‘Tika’ was directed by Victor Vroegindewiej. The short story carries a heavy mood as it follows along veteran actor Carel Struycken (The Adams Family, Star Trek, Het Paard van Sinterklaas) as he escapes society to reconnect with himself and nature.
Notes from YouTube:
“The film explores the increasing [...]

This is pretty interesting, that is, if you’re like me and many others who are actually slightly moved by reminiscing around the old gui graphics of web browsers past. From Netscape to Chrome, this interactive infographic allows us to rediscover those old browsers that we all criticized, cursed at and at times even celebrated. Yes, we [...]
