If you haven’t stopped by the Percival menswear boutique site yet, you should do so. Not only is their menswear collection pretty fresh, I dig the product photography and the super clean design. All together it makes for a nice branded shopping experience. Sophisticated + simple and a bit edgy.

Reveal Project – Personal Data Mirror from NYT R&D on Vimeo.
I’ve seen a few flavors of mirror screen concepts coming from different tech companies in the past few years. Most notable was a Yahoo! powered experience I saw at the 2006 CES (I almost got in trouble for taking that photo)… This version by the [...]

You’ve got to love the big budget hyper-immersive branded experiences that come from automotive industry giants like Volvo. For a designer, it’s kind of a dream to work on stuff like this. This particular experience features an inspirational deep dive for adventure seeking Volvo fanboys… the cars, the amazing destinations, the bears… it’s all there. [...]

Light from Sunday Paper on Vimeo.
Nice concept, very well executed. Definitely makes for an interesting view.
Notes from Vimeo:
““Light” a short film directed by David Parker, initially began as a project intended to bring awareness to energy waste. Bleeding, crying lights were meant to metaphorically parallel the way in which we invisibly squander our natural resources [...]

There are a couple things in life that never cease to bring me great pleasure. Solid, simple, clean design being one …and yes, 4 wheel drive in the form of a trusty/capable truck being another. Los Angeles based custom 4×4 builder ‘Icon’ has recently promised the release of a new Ford Bronco style classic to [...]

Go All Day from Colin Kennedy on Vimeo.
This is an impressive single take video, featuring some great camera work, timelapse and some pretty slick riding by Chaz Ortiz.
Notes from Vimeo:
“A single-take, short film collaboration between Gatorade and The Berrics { theberrics.com } promoting Gatorade’s ‘Go All Day’ campaign. Starring professional skateboarder and Gatorade athlete Chaz Ortiz.”

Some are calling the Shuffler.FM iPad app the “Flipboard of music discovery”. It automagically aggregates music content from thousands of tastemakers, music blogs, sites and magazines creating one big fat, music channel of love …something like that. Just when I was just starting to really get into Spotify. On to the next thing I suppose.
Get App [...]

The ‘Optimo Fine Hats’ site experience is a terrific example of online branding, story telling and product display. They obviously want customers to come away with the understanding that Optimo hats are the real deal. Quality stuff. It will be interesting to see how they design out the online store.

Novum 11/11 – Making Of Cover from Paperlux on Vimeo.
Just a fun A-Z documentary on the design process behind the Paperlux Novum 11/11 magazine cover. I really enjoy their work. Much more stellar design beyond the link below.

Fun With Sphero from GoSphero on Vimeo.
Not much else to say, other than this Sphero thing is rad, and I think it will be as big as the Rubic’s Cube (or at least it should be in my opinion). Such a great concept and design! I ♥ Sphero!

This is pretty interesting, that is, if you’re like me and many others who are actually slightly moved by reminiscing around the old gui graphics of web browsers past. From Netscape to Chrome, this interactive infographic allows us to rediscover those old browsers that we all criticized, cursed at and at times even celebrated. Yes, we [...]

I love the branding and design work around Amsterdam based innovation and creativity festival PICNIC (September 14th – 16th). Everything from the poster to the site experience is buttoned-up and feels nice and fresh. I wish I were able to attend it this year, the lineup of speakers is pretty amazing. Be sure to have [...]

Experiment No. 2 – Backcountry Nest from Shwood Eyewear on Vimeo.

I really dig this new digital audio interface called Emulator 1.5, designed for Traktor 2. The ‘tronish lightscreen’ interface feels super clean and something of a circa 1980s sci-fi throwback. In a very good way. I’m usually not a fan of too many interface colors competing for a user’s attention, but this execution demands it, [...]
