SketchSynth -> Drawable OSC Control Surface

Notes from Site:

“SketchSynth lets anyone create their own control panels with just a marker and a piece of paper. Once drawn, the controller sends Open Sound Control (OSC) messages to anything that can receive them; in this case, a simple synthesizer running in Pure Data. It’s a fun toy that also demonstrates the possibilities of adding [...]

Icon Bronco -> Cool Hunting Vid

Yes, another 4×4 post… I’ve posted many times about the magical custom rehab 4×4 establishment that is Icon, based in L.A. The folks at Cool Huntind created a nice little spot on their amazing Bronco design. Did you know that the grill design on some of the Icon trucks was assisted by Nike? More detail [...]

IKEA UPPLEVA -> Smart TV & Sound System

5 years from now we’ll be saying “remember when all of our home electronics had cables sprawling all over the place?”. Nice to see IKEA taking the lead on this.

Notes from YouTube Page:

“IKEA introduces UPPLEVA, a completely new range that integrates smart TV and sound system with furniture. UPPLEVA brings beauty and functionality to the [...]

Jonathan Levine Gallery -> Delusional

Delusional: The Story of the Jonathan LeVine Gallery from weholden on Vimeo.

This is one book I’ll be excited to add to my reading list this Spring. Srsly, can’t wait to read it…

Notes from Vimeo:

“Widely revered as the “artists’ gallerist,” Jonathan LeVine has nourished a much needed alternative viewpoint within the stilted New York art market. [...]

REI -> Flash 62 Pack 360° Visualizer

It’s tough trying to select a highly technical piece of outdoor gear online. Especially a heavy-duty pack designed specifically to carry even more technical gear, there’s a lot to consider and it almost becomes impossible to make a decision without seeing it up close and in-person. That’s why I really dig REI’s smart ‘Flash 62 [...]

The First Day -> Hello Stranger

It’s never too late to say happy new year, well, maybe April is too late. Regardless, I really enjoy the overall vibe of this ‘Happy New Year’ video produced by ‘Hello Stranger’. The timelapse fwd and back, fireworks and zippy soundtrack make this a fun view, any time of the year.

Responsive.is -> Responsive Layout

How responsive is your website? Will it pour successfully into multiple screen sizes without losing view of your content and maintaining a consistent hierarchy? This is an interesting emulator for organizations interested in displaying content on all screens while maintaining one core experience. You can check it out beyond the link below. Just type in [...]

Kickstarter -> Vuelta: Padron Watch Co.

Kickstarter is an amazing phenomenon isn’t it? It allows brilliant people to bring their ideas to life by raising the funds to make it happen, this example is no exception. The beautiful wrist watch design above called ‘Vuelta’, was created by Leo Padron, founder of the Minneapolis based Padron Watch Company. His passion and knowledge for restoring Swiss and [...]

Audience App -> Google Analytics

I recently purchased this nice new Google analytics visualizer called ‘Audience’ for 99¢ in the appstore. It’s well designed and there are some nice color transitions that occur while looking over your data. Kind of refreshing in comparison to all of the other less designed options that are available.

Get it -> itunes.apple.com/nl/app/audience

Society6.com -> JHSINDESIGN

This past week I decided to check out the Society6 artist’s community/storefront. I have been shopping around for an online print and frame service for some of my photography anyway, so I decided, why not try a service that also connects artists together, similar to how the Blurb DIY book service does? So far, I [...]

Try on a New Sofa -> Ikea Video

Ikea has always produced fresh/fun ways to promote and demo their new products online, which makes sense given that their in-store experience is all about doing just that. This video experience is pretty entertaining. The sets are probably the most impressive part to me, with each one so amazingly rich and well shot into. Cool [...]

Android -> Digital Standards

It’s not easy for companies to keep track of their brand presentation across all the platforms, screens and devices that exist these days. Especially when you’re in the app space, and you have hundreds of third party app designers and developers out there creating new experiences specifically for your device. How do you keep it [...]

LIFECYCLE -> 365 days in the life of a bike in NYC

This is a pretty creative take on your everyday 365 project. NYC based ‘Red Peak Branding Company’ chained a fully accessorized bicycle to a post and took a daily shot for a year. You can pretty much guess what happend, but it’s still fun to watch.

Style Ledger -> A Factory in Brooklyn

A FACTORY IN BROOKLYN from STYLE LEDGER on Vimeo.

Nice documentary on old school, quality USA garment manufacturing, focusing on the Martin Greenfield factory in Brooklyn. I personally hope that these smaller “Made in the USA” clothing manufacturers continue to build and renew their popularity. You may not get the 24 hour shipping option, or the [...]
