Unseen Photography -> Photo Fair

The super clean, well designed type design, promotional materials and web site for the Unseen Photo Fair in Amsterdam are a fine example of event branding. The Amsterdam based festival is a gathering of photography galleries displaying unseen works. Worth checking out.

The Evolution of Video Game Controllers -> Infographic

I decided to check in on visual.ly this week to see how the community was coming along. Turns out, very well. There are a ton of new updates since my last visit, and some really quality stuff too. For those that love infographics do yourself a favor and pay them a visit.

Graffiti Wars 2011 -> channel4

Nice video documentary on street art vs. graffiti. Lot’s of candid material and great works to be seen, all told from a a street level p.o.v. Well worth the view.

Facebook Timeline -> First impressions

I’ve got to say, things were looking pretty grim for ol’ Facebook when Google+ rolled out. G+ seemed to offer up some pretty nice enhancements to the social networking space with ‘circles’ and being able to follow non-friends, similar to Twitter. For me though, it lacked in the area of visual presentation, other than the […]

The Alphabet 2 -> n9ve

The Alphabet 2 from n9ve on Vimeo.
Super ambitious, super fun. I like the wide array of effects and the overall quirkiness of this short video. Great work coming from the talented Turin, Italy based design studio ‘9nve’.
Notes from Vimeo:
“The Alphabet 2- a horn book video experiment – is a developmental spelling – video where each […]

TIKA -> For Better Or For Worse

This nicely done documentary/music video for the Dutch indie band ‘Tika’ was directed by Victor Vroegindewiej. The short story carries a heavy mood as it follows along veteran actor Carel Struycken (The Adams Family, Star Trek, Het Paard van Sinterklaas) as he escapes society to reconnect with himself and nature.
Notes from YouTube:
“The film explores the increasing […]

Bryon Darby -> Flight Paths photo set

Byron Darby is a Northern Utah born and raised artist, with a focus in photography. The impressive composited image at the top called “Seventy Flights in Ninety Minutes” is the piece of his that originally caught my eye. His images are with no doubt the product of great persistence and planning. Many more fantastic examples […]

'Views' Photo Set -> Alberto Salván Zulueta

I really like the overall effect, technique and feel of the photography set called ‘Views’ by Alberto Salván Zulueta. Two significantly different views melded together to create an even more powerful and thought provoking image, that somehow feels comfortably whole and standalone. Many more via the link below.

Evolution of the Web -> Interactive Infographic

This is pretty interesting, that is, if you’re like me and many others who are actually slightly moved by reminiscing around the old gui graphics of web browsers past. From Netscape to Chrome, this interactive infographic allows us to rediscover those old browsers that we all criticized, cursed at and at times even celebrated. Yes, we […]

Compressed 02 -> Kim Pimmel

Compressed 02 from Kim Pimmel on Vimeo.
This is a pretty incredible experimental video coming from Kim Pimmel. I’m struck by the geometry that is revealed as the ferrofluid travels the microscopic seams of each bubble. Nicely done.
Notes from Vimeo:
“I combined everyday soap bubbles with exotic ferrofluid liquid to create an eerie tale, using macro lenses […]
