Eric Fischer -> Geotagging Data 'Locals and Tourists'

Oakland based computer programmer Eric Fischer has a very interesting photo set on his Flickr stream called ‘Locals and Tourists’. The set contains visualizations of various cities (seen above are NYC, San Francisco and London) photo activity of locals and tourists. The geotagging data is represented by different colors, blue = locals, red = tourists [...]

Napoleón Vuelaenpartes -> Design/Poster Prints

I really enjoy Napoleón Vuelaenpartes’ genius fusion of old school skate, retro silk screen illustration and Star Wars imagery. In my opinion, he could keep playing around with those ingredients endlessly, I don’t think I’d ever get bored of them. Nice colors, textures, fresh illustration and type… Have a look via the link below.

Grove Made -> iPhone 4 Case Design (update)

Along with the news of the iPhone 4 release on June 24th, Grove Made is taking pre-orders on their new laser engraved iPhone case specifically designed for the new model. I wondered how the bamboo case would look given that the new iPhone design has some sharper edges to it… still looks very nice.

My iPhone Pics -> Plastic Bullet App ♥

I used the ‘Plastic Bullet’ app from software company ‘Red Giant’ to add the interesting border effects and vignette treatment. ‘Plastic Bullet’ has quickly become my favorite filtering tool over ‘hipstamatic’ because I think the overall look [...]

Dust Breedings, 3D Rendering -> Jan Goldfuss

dust breedings from goaj on Vimeo.

This is an experimental CG particle animation by Berlin based digital artist Jan Goldfuß. The subtle spatial pans are very impressive to me, considering that he’s tracking so many tiny elements. Overall, the effects in this video feel very fresh. Definitely worth checking out.

You can tell from his many videos [...]

MARWENCOL -> Mark Hogancamp Story

This past Monday night I was invited by a friend to view a documentary directed by Jeff Malmberg called “MARWENCOL”, the story of photographer and artist Mark Hogancamp (creator of the incredible photos above). Without giving away too much of the plot, it’s about a man from Upstate New York who was brutally attacked and [...]

Dan Carrillo -> Seattle Artist Portraits

Recently, a friend of mine from work introduced me to these amazing portraits, shot by Seattle based artist Dan Carrillo with his 8 x 10 Burke and James and an 11 x 14 Deardorff studio camera named ‘Daisy’. Using an old technique called ‘wet-plate collodion’ on plates called ‘Ambrotypes’ his images are all one-of-a-kind, similar [...]
