This past Monday night I was invited by a friend to view a documentary directed by Jeff Malmberg called “MARWENCOL”, the story of photographer and artist Mark Hogancamp (creator of the incredible photos above). Without giving away too much of the plot, it’s about a man from Upstate New York who was brutally attacked and beaten into a comma by five men. Suffering from brain damage and a severe loss of memory he was left to take it upon himself to heal both physically and mentally from the senseless attack. Through his own creative thinking, talent for photography and scale model/replica building, Mark Hogancamp miraculously turns his life around and positively affects the lives of many others. “MARWENCOL” will be released theatrically in the U.S. by The Cinema Guild in the fall of 2010. I know I’ll continue to be inspired by this amazing film for some time, I highly recommend you check it out when it’s released this Fall. ★★★★★’s for sure.
