LoKast -> Disposable Social Net

LoKast is what people are calling a ‘disposable social net’ and was revealed last week at SXSW in Austin. What makes it “disposable” is that you can connect temporarily with the people around you and carry on social interactions such as content sharing and other common activities like voting, chat, flirting, debating… broadcasting yourself in general. Perfect for sports events, conferences, concerts and other gatherings that hold a large number of people within close proximity. The best part is that when the event is over, you can walk away without feeling the need to keep up with everyone you just met, like leaving a party and maybe you kept a couple of phone numbers. This concept seems to carry a lot of potential and I’m sure we’ll see a lot of these apps pop up in the next couple of years. Rumor has it that Apple is working a similar social net called iGroups as well, that functions kind of like a ‘walkie-talkie’.
