As I sit here waiting for the rain to blow over and for the pavement to dry a bit so that I can go on a bike ride, I’ve decided to dip into David Cooper’s bicycle collection on coopertechnica.com once again. This time we’re looking at an extremely rare French made 1958 Urago Bicycle crafted from Vitus tubing and Nervex lugs. This frame has not yet been completely restored, the original owner painted the frame with brush paint but did not go over the original decals which makes them salvageable. The bike also sports the original Simplex lever-operated front derailleur and Simplex JUY 543 rear derailleur, Stronglight crankset, Ideale 52 saddle and Weinmann brakes. I really like the extreme bend of the chromed tip forks and the original head badge graphic that reminds me of a stencil design by Shepard Fairey. Below is a pic from the original bike frame manufacturer.
