I’ve Got You and You’ve Got Me -> New Buffalo

I’ve Got You and You’ve Got Me – New Buffalo Remixed by Broken Social Scene from Karen Abad ♥s Dinosaurs. on Vimeo.

I find this video directed by cinematography grad student Karen Abad to be extremely entertaining in a quirky kind of way. The story is simple. Two young moderately tattooed hipsters find love through ‘Bomb Pops’, a Fixie, super skinny jeans and a crumb trail of childlike drawings. Doesn’t every cute horn-rimmed couple come together this way? Outside of all the trend traffic (that I find makes this piece a borderline ‘Urban Outfitter’ commercial), the cinematography is really well designed, the story is well told and shot with a Super 16mm camera to boot. Yes, a film camera… which I find very refreshing at a time when HD cinematography is so popular. Have a look. + I’m a fan of just about anything that the record label ‘Arts and Crafts’ releases, especially the ‘Broken Social Scene’.
