Underwater photography has been very trendy in the past year or two and I have seen a lot of amazing examples of it. A few months ago the woman’s clothing store ‘Anthropology’ photographed their entire catalog with underwater photography. Has the trend plateaued I wonder? The examples posted here lead me to believe that underwater [...]

This amazing time lapse was shot in Tokyo with Canon 350D and 5D DSLRs, and processed with Lightroom (raw files color adjustment and resizing)/VirtualDub (deshaker/deflicker filters)/Sony Vegas (editing). Original rendered in 1080 HD@30p. This is a great capture of the continuous movement of big city life in Tokyo and well worth a view or two.

Jazz Pianist Eric Lewis from NPR on Vimeo.
This is an amazing performance by Eric Lewis (aka Elew) performing his original tune “Thanksgiving” sans-piano bench in NPR’s Studio 4a. He’s one of the best pianists alive today and definitely one to check out if you haven’t heard his music already. I like his description from his [...]

Paris based sculptor Xavier Veilhan has recently created a new piece of sculpture for restaurant Le Germain. Titled ‘Sophie’, the sculpture penetrates the ceiling of the restaurant and reappears in the upstairs lounge. You can see how this works from the 3d rendering below. I’ve always been attracted to Xavier Veilhan‘s bold use of color [...]

Today’s 12th ‘Midweek Music Bump’ is by a great East Coast band ‘the Oranges Band’ (Baltimore, MD). If you’re looking for a down-and-dirty rock band with quirky beach/Summer vibe to keep your BBQs rolling along, ‘the Oranges Band’ is a good one to add to your playlist. I don’t know what the weather has been [...]

The above ‘MP3 Experiment 6′ is yet another zany urban social experiment brought to us by ‘Improv Everywhere’ (the creators of the ‘No Pants Subway Ride‘ and the ‘High Five Escalator’). In this video you’ll see a few hundred people square dance, stalk strangers and beat down a villain wolf. Yes, it’s a bit strange. [...]

I’ve been collecting silkscreen rock posters for a bunch of years and have just now encountered the work of Dan Stiles. His graphics are punchy, inventive and timeless. I’m really drawn to his taste in color as well. Hmmmm. I’ll have to figure out how to create more wall space at home for some of [...]
