It’s not often that you hear of a musician completely wiring an upright lounge piano in order to control it by a midi interface. If anyone’s music requires such a Frankenstein approach it would be Dan Deacon’s. This video series shows Dan Deacon acting out his madman approach to music creation in the mountains of Montana (Whitefish Lake area).
I’m starting you off on the clip called “The Piano” because I thought it was the most interesting of the four. What’s more interesting than crazy DIY haircuts, frequency exploration, sheet metal re-verb and a Frankenstein piano? I can’t cant think of anything. If you do have the time to check out all four, I would recommend doing so.
