view Panoramic photography of Prague
A few months ago I found the panoramic photography site called 360 Cities. I know, there are a ton of these panoramic sites out there. What sets 360 Cities apart from the rest of them that I have seen is the variety, quality and the ability to filter through the thousands of scenes by photographer. Artists and photographers have taken the technology of panoramic photography and turned it into a new artistic medium. No longer are the days of just using panoramic photography for cheesy tourism, Google maps way-finding or selling luxury homes and condos.
360 Cities has also added the ability to geo browse. Meaning, if you are in a scene that you like and want to go to the next scene in any certain direction you can. All scenes are stitched together geographically. This makes for endless hours of globe gawking. In my opinion, armed with a nice cup of tea, this is a great way to disconnect from reality and travel the world. I like to think of them as “micro vacations”. Be sure to check out the many scenes in “full screen mode”, it really adds to the experience.
In a nut shell, and as they say on their home page, 360 Cities hosts, commissions and develops the visual geo-web through high quality panoramic imagery. I chose to embed the St. Charles Bridge, Prague (taken by Bernhard Vogla), b/c I was fortunate enough to visit there in person a couple of years ago and I often long to go back. Until then, I have 360 Cities.

That is SO COOL. Thanks!
