Fleet Foxes – “Mykonos” (stop motion video)

Mykonos from Grandchildren on Vimeo.

I just caught wind of this new Fleet Foxes stop motion video called “Mykonos” on Vimeo. The track is reminiscent of early Crosby, Stills & Nash accompanied by a soothing story told through the animation genius of a cut-paper gone cubist artist/illustrator/designer (Jesse Brown). The earthy palette and moody lighting maintains a consistent state of mellow warmth as the story unfolds. Just what the world needs these days.

The creative team is listed below (more details on Vimeo page):

Director/Animator – Sean Pecknold
Artist/Illustrator – Jesse Brown (papervspencil.com)
Animation Assistant – Toby Liebowitz (inbruno.com)
Animation Assistant – Chris Ando (myspace.com/talbottagora)

You can watch a short “making of” here: vimeo.com/3090846

Thanks to Shawn for the Fleet Foxes recommendation!
